Innovation @TechCrunch Disrupt!
Wednesday, May 11th
Innovation students were invited to attend TechCrunch Disrupt at Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Redhook.
TechCrunch is a leading technology media property, dedicated to obsessively profiling startups, reviewing new Internet products, and breaking tech news. Disrupt is a convention hosted all over the world connecting new innovative tech startups with audiences and funders. Here we are on the TechCrunch Flickr!
These students are currently working on developing their very own first app via the SNAP! platform in AP Computer Science, and this trip was an eye opening look into the tech world and how start ups with innovative ideas make it to market.
Innovation students had the opportunity to interview start up companies about their new apps and hardware, get an exclusive look at the future of mobile apps, and see Carmelo Anthony in person speaking about his company and the initiatives they fund.
Special thanks to Kara Chesal, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships & Industry Engagement at the Department of Education, for extending this opportunity to New York city students!
