What is AVID?
AVID is an in-school academic support program for grades 9 through 12 that prepares students for college eligibility and success.
AVID IS NOT a remedial program or study hall.
Who is the AVID Site Team?
The AVID elective is driven by the WICR method, which stands for Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading. The AVID curriculum is not only used in the AVID elective, but also other core classes.
The class is unique because it will offer:
– Collaborative study groups
– Writing groups
– Motivational activities
– AVID exclusive events
Similar to all CCR classes, AVID students will also have a four-year curriculum, PSAT, SAT, ACT test preparation, strategies for success, guest speakers, and college tours.
